Short CV

Anna Sfairopoulou received her B.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Ioannina, Greece on July 2000. She then moved to Barcelona where she obtained her M.Sc. (2004) and Ph.D. (2008) degree from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). Since 2002 she has been working at the UPF as a full time researcher and teaching assistant, and from 2008 she is a Visiting Professor at the Department of Information and Communication Technologies of the UPF. She is a member of the Network Technologies and Strategies (NeTS) research group.

Her research interests are in the areas of VoIP and wireless communications, SIP protocol, 802.11 networks, performance analysis and QoS optimization. She has participated in several national and international projects of the NeTS research group, both as a researcher and as a coordinator. Her current research activities are focused in the cross-layer mechanisms for QoS enhancements in the multi-rate WLANs, QoS-enhanced Access Point implementation and VoIP performance optimization in wireless networks.
